Song of the Day - 9/20

Last night at like 10 o' clock i was getting ready for bed so i turned on the radio, which happened to be turned to 97.1 Cities 97. This is not a station i generally listen to, but right as i was going to change the station, this song same on and i couldn't stop listening...afterwawrd it turned out it was a live "Studio C" performance, and was the song 7 Years by Cedar Avenue. They're a local Minnesota band, and they. are. awesome. I call the the American Snow Patrol, but then again, i've only known about them for less than 24 hours...
Unfortunately, none of their songs are on Youtube for me to embed onto here, but their website has more information about them, and you can stream tracks for free: Listen to Up North, because it's the SOTD!

I hope you enjoy their music as much as i have (in the last couple hours), because this might be my favorite "music discovery" yet!

Happy Birthday Chelsea Staub!

This is in no way a fan-blog for Chelsea Staub (One of the actresses on Jonas and Jonas L.A.) , but she is super awesome, and crazy gorgeous. Regarding my blog, there has been a SOTD written about her (The Summer Set's Chelsea), and she DID say the Random Words of Wisdom this month, so i will offically wish her a happy 22nd birthday today!

She tweeted earlier:
"Birthdays are good for you. Statistics show that those that have the most live the longest."
Too funny. :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHELSEA!!

Song of the Day - 9/14

Im getting behind on blogging because of school, dance, danceteam, and whatnot. Today's song is more like a VIDEO of the day, because it's two different songs, and neither of which sang by the original artist...

Mike Tompkins, singer of today's SOTD, is extremely awesome: He covers many of today's biggest hit songs totlly a cappella. I love how he sort of explains how he does it at the end, but it still blows my mind!
He is covering Katy Perry's Teenage Dream (just came out, and is already WAY too overplayed for my enjoyment) and Bruno Mars' Just The Way You Are (which i still love, because it is an adorable song). Enjoy Mike Tompkins' Awesomeness!!

(watch his face on the cymbal part during the chorus of Teenage Dream: too funny, too funny...)

Song of the Day - 9/7/10

Im a little surprised that with my (crazed) Jonas Brothers obsession of the moment that i haven't yet used a JB song for the SOTD. Well, let's change that...

This isn't a particularly good song, but its super cute and catchy...and it's been in my head for about 3 WEEKS. It's from Camp Rock 2, which came out on Friday, and its the song Nick's character sings to his love interest, Dana (and her ginormous lips).
This is the SOTD, Introducing Me:

(the song doesn't start until 1:25 about, so you can fast forward, or get a little set up of the (very easy to understand) plot...)

Also, on the Jonas World Tour going on right now (They were supposed to come here TOMORROW but canceled. :( but that's not the subject at the mo...) Joe challenges Nick to sing the song faster and faster every night. It's pretty hilarious:

(trying to find a video without screaming is IMPOSSIBLE, but Joe says if Nick can't sing the song in under 2:14, than Nick has to breakdance. If Nick wins, Joe has to breakdance. enjoy)

Song of the Day - 9/1

The fact that summer is totally over now is depressing (school started Monday), and the "fun part" of starting school (seeing everyone again) has completely worn off. So while i should be doing homework (eew. already), I'll choose another S.O.T.D (Song of the Day for those who are acronym-ically challenged).

If you didn't already know, Green Day made a Broadway musical this year with the music from their 2004 concept album, American Idiot (the musical has the same title). I haven't seen the show yet (there's some raunchy subject matter that i wouldn't want to watch with my parents; although they took me to Spring Awakening, so idk...) but after watching the 2010 Tony Awards a few weeks back, i REALLY want to see it!!
I love the b'way version of American Idiot (The Song), and also their rendition of 21 Guns. BUt my favorite of all is the (very "Glee") mash-up of Last Of The American Girls with She's A Rebel (There's also a little of the song Saint Jimmy at the end, which is my favorite part!). I Like these two songs individually, but together its even AWEsomer. Sooo check it out. Also, if anyone has seen the show let me know!! because i want to!

ok, lexicon time. quick, define filibuster! :P
