Video of the Day - 11/9/10
I'm one of those weird Packer-Fans from Minnesota. AKA, i really hate the Vikings, and their fans (my friends). However, i can't hate this video, because it is super awesome.
EVERYBODY ONE CLAP!

Thriller
Our dance studio's oldest lines made this Thriller video last week! One of our teachers got all "Mr. Director" with it, so basically its pretty awesome. I don't think i am ever on the screen, but it was still fun! (This is not the original MJ choreography, by the way, it's just some fun chorep our teachers came up with! Enjoy!!)

Les Miserables 25th Anniversary Concert, 10/3
I wanted to go to this really badly, but i knew flying to London to watch Nick Jonas would probably not fly. Even when i said i wanted to see Norm Lewis (who played Javert), we still didn't go. So i have been watching the couple of videos that have been uploaded from the concert, and living vicariously through them :)
The original London 1985 cast singing One Day More, let's be honest, definitely almost made me cry yesterday. Michael Ball as Marius is just too much: he is phenomenal!!!
sidenote: when i was, i don't know, maybe 12, we went to London and saw Chitty Chitty Bang Bang starring Michael Ball. AFter the show we accidentally almost bumped into him outside the stagedoor! goodtimes. :)
All the videos i have seen have been amazing, but I'll post three more. If you are wondering why they are singing into mics, its because it is Les Mis in CONCERT and not the actual show. Here is Nick singing Empty Chairs...i have no words for how ridiculously good he is at this:
A Little Fall of Rain: (Samantha Barks, playing Eponine, is Nick's supposed current girlfriend. Personally, i really like her, so i don't mind! haha)
AAAAAAND my very favorite Les Mis song, Red and Black. I'm pretty sure there are few people like me whose favorite song is this one, because everybody else likes "On My Own" or "I Dreamed A Dream", etc. But have you ever sang Red and Black (Or Do you Hear the People Sing, my 2nd favorite song) at the top of your lungs before? You may just change your mind. :)
enjoy! And to my dad, watch these. Then let me buy the DVD. merciii.

Song of the Day - 9/20
Last night at like 10 o' clock i was getting ready for bed so i turned on the radio, which happened to be turned to 97.1 Cities 97. This is not a station i generally listen to, but right as i was going to change the station, this song same on and i couldn't stop listening...afterwawrd it turned out it was a live "Studio C" performance, and was the song 7 Years by Cedar Avenue. They're a local Minnesota band, and they. are. awesome. I call the the American Snow Patrol, but then again, i've only known about them for less than 24 hours...
Unfortunately, none of their songs are on Youtube for me to embed onto here, but their website has more information about them, and you can stream tracks for free: Listen to Up North, because it's the SOTD!
http://www.cedaravenuemusic.com/
http://www.myspace.com/CedarAvenue
I hope you enjoy their music as much as i have (in the last couple hours), because this might be my favorite "music discovery" yet!

Happy Birthday Chelsea Staub!
This is in no way a fan-blog for Chelsea Staub (One of the actresses on Jonas and Jonas L.A.) , but she is super awesome, and crazy gorgeous. Regarding my blog, there has been a SOTD written about her (The Summer Set's Chelsea), and she DID say the Random Words of Wisdom this month, so i will offically wish her a happy 22nd birthday today!
She tweeted earlier:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHELSEA!!

She tweeted earlier:
"Birthdays are good for you. Statistics show that those that have the most live the longest."
Too funny. :)HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHELSEA!!

Song of the Day - 9/14
Im getting behind on blogging because of school, dance, danceteam, and whatnot. Today's song is more like a VIDEO of the day, because it's two different songs, and neither of which sang by the original artist...
Mike Tompkins, singer of today's SOTD, is extremely awesome: He covers many of today's biggest hit songs totlly a cappella. I love how he sort of explains how he does it at the end, but it still blows my mind!
He is covering Katy Perry's Teenage Dream (just came out, and is already WAY too overplayed for my enjoyment) and Bruno Mars' Just The Way You Are (which i still love, because it is an adorable song). Enjoy Mike Tompkins' Awesomeness!!
(watch his face on the cymbal part during the chorus of Teenage Dream: too funny, too funny...)

Song of the Day - 9/7/10
Im a little surprised that with my (crazed) Jonas Brothers obsession of the moment that i haven't yet used a JB song for the SOTD. Well, let's change that...
This isn't a particularly good song, but its super cute and catchy...and it's been in my head for about 3 WEEKS. It's from Camp Rock 2, which came out on Friday, and its the song Nick's character sings to his love interest, Dana (and her ginormous lips).
This is the SOTD, Introducing Me:
(the song doesn't start until 1:25 about, so you can fast forward, or get a little set up of the (very easy to understand) plot...)
Also, on the Jonas World Tour going on right now (They were supposed to come here TOMORROW but canceled. :( but that's not the subject at the mo...) Joe challenges Nick to sing the song faster and faster every night. It's pretty hilarious:
(trying to find a video without screaming is IMPOSSIBLE, but Joe says if Nick can't sing the song in under 2:14, than Nick has to breakdance. If Nick wins, Joe has to breakdance. enjoy)

Song of the Day - 9/1
The fact that summer is totally over now is depressing (school started Monday), and the "fun part" of starting school (seeing everyone again) has completely worn off. So while i should be doing homework (eew. already), I'll choose another S.O.T.D (Song of the Day for those who are acronym-ically challenged).
If you didn't already know, Green Day made a Broadway musical this year with the music from their 2004 concept album, American Idiot (the musical has the same title). I haven't seen the show yet (there's some raunchy subject matter that i wouldn't want to watch with my parents; although they took me to Spring Awakening, so idk...) but after watching the 2010 Tony Awards a few weeks back, i REALLY want to see it!!
I love the b'way version of American Idiot (The Song), and also their rendition of 21 Guns. BUt my favorite of all is the (very "Glee") mash-up of Last Of The American Girls with She's A Rebel (There's also a little of the song Saint Jimmy at the end, which is my favorite part!). I Like these two songs individually, but together its even AWEsomer. Sooo check it out. Also, if anyone has seen the show let me know!! because i want to!
ok, lexicon time. quick, define filibuster! :P

Song of the Day - 8/25
Summer's almost over! :(
Today's song of the day is one of my favorite summer songs of this year...Chelsea by The Summer Set!
This is one of those songs that me and my sisters love to jam to at the pool, etc.
The lead singer of The Summer Set, Brian Dales, used to date Chelsea Staub (aka Stella from Jonas) and wrote her this song. Its super cute...but they havent been dating in a while, so thats too bad! But that's also why she's in the video! (With really long hair! Its really short now...)
Enjoy this song while i enjoy my lats remaining hours :( of summer!

Song of The Day - 8/21
Song Of The Day:
So Obvious by Runner Runner
I heard this song a few weeks ago for the first time when i THOUGHT i would be going to their concert. I ended up NOT going :(, but im so glad i looked up this band. They are a little techno-y at times, but definately perfect for rocking out to...So Obvious is their biggest hit right now, which i know because i have heard it on XM radio multiple times now! (I am currently jamming)
(i am a fan of the guitarist who sings a couple times and looks vaguely like Matt Morrison... :)

Song of the Day 8/15
OK, i've been getting alot of crap from mi padre that i dont blog enough. So im going to choose a song-of-the-day everyday for a while now, so at least i'll be writing something! :)
Today's Pick:
"This Ain't A Love Song" - Scouting For Girls
This is one of those songs i usually skipped through on the radio, but yesterday i finally decided to listen to it...and now i love it. The band is made of 3 guys from England, which you can tell by lead singer Roy Stride's accent in the song. I love when he says "And i'm a bloody big mess inside"...becuase his accent is GORGEOUS, thats why!
i don't know much about Scouting For Girls yet, but i'm definately going to invest in some of their other songs...partly because i need more of Roy Stride's voice on my iPod. :)

India, and Some Other Stuff!
Goodness Gracious, its been a while. That's okay, though, because nobody reads this! India was AWESOME, and H.O.T! It was aboot 105 degrees and very sunny everyday, which would presumably make most people, and especially Minnesotans, burn to a crisp. NOT ME, however. Im the not at all tan one at school that moderately tan people stand next to to look good. haha, but not really. Its not very funny to me. :P
So, anyway, India was superb. The first 4 days in Chennai were more "eeeeh", but we're REALLY glad we did those days first, and not AFTER al the awesome. And by awesome, i mean everything else we did. Highlight: Taj Mahal. How predictable of me, but it was very cool beans. Also, Kerala was really nice. And we ran into Anthony Bourdain on a random street (actually, not random: it is called Jew Street, i kid you not) in Kochi! How often does that happen? not very, i say. but i may be wrong.
Hmmm...What else to tell? Oh yes! Cricket! I always thought cricket was the boringest sport EVER but i was pleasantly surprised by liking it! The majority of games we watched were the Chennai Super Kings, but for some reason i bought a Rajasthan Royals t-shirt. I guess im just weird like that ;)
Maybe I'll write more later? I'm pretty pumped for our first dance competition this weekend, but its at the same time as my confirmation, so STRESSFUL! Also, our family might be going to Big River @ the Illusion Theatre, which would be AWESOME because i absolutely love the music from that show, and I've always wanted to see it! Right now my Nick Jonas obsession is calling, because he is "taking over" Radio Disney...i PROMISE i ONLY listen to Radio Disney on these sort of occasions! :P heehee.

In T minus 2 days my family is going to...wait for iiiiiiiit... INDIA. Im pretty much psyched, but also a little nervous regarding the fact that i haven't even started packing yet. hmm, ya. better get on that. For this trip i have VOWED to myself to keep a journal. Every time i start a journal, i usually get bored, or i realize that i have nothing to say. BUT I PROMISE this time i will NOT get bored with my journal, and i will NOT give up on the second day (this has happened before). I hope i can keep to that, because we all know deep down how this is going to end up. Maybe when i get home ill type out some of the (possibly existent) journal entries, depending on how interesting they are.
In another direction now i want to congratulate my uncle Bob's girls basketball team for advancing to the state finals! Great job Benilde girls! Unfortunately the final game is while we are in India (Did i mention that? INDIA? thought so), so ill end up watching it on Tivo later. Sooo GOOD LUCK BENILDE GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM AND UNCLE BOB!
I would say this was a very not interesting or funny post, but hey, have any of them been? :P
~Ēka baṛhiyā dina hai! Im yahām̐ sē jā.
~~google translator might be lying, but thats supposed to mean "have a great day! Im outta here." but God only knows what it actually says!...and people who speak Hindi...

11 Things i NERD out about
Another possible title for this blog post would be 10 things that, when i get very obsessed with, drive my friends ABSOLUTELY BONKERS. heehee
;)
1. So You Think You Can Dance
~And even more specifically, the SYTYCD dancers...theres been 6 seasons so far, and i always find someone to be totally obsessed with:
season 1-Nick. and Melody. They were so cute
season 2- Travis! (He totally should've won, but im over it.)
season 3-Tricky one, because after the tour we got to meet everybody! BUT Neil was the one that made it into my planner (a place where every celeb and dancer are just fighting to be, right?), and got talked about the most. However, Sara got us the backstage passes, and ill forever love her for that!
season 4-EVERYBODY, but especially Kherington! Also loved Courtney, and Katee
season 5-my MOSt obsessive season of all! I put all the dances on my iPod and practically can do most of them! I got to take a master class from 4 of the contestants, who happens to be most of my faves. overall the season, my fave was JEANINE, and shes my dance/life role model. And the coolest person on EARTH. But i also liked everybody else! In this order: after Jeanine, Jason, Janette, Caitlin, Ade, Evan, i cant rank them like this!!?!. i loved ALL of them!
season 6-JAKOB. i voted a ZILLION times, but he did not win (he was runner-up) I am still bitter about this. I also liked Peter and Pauline, but the day i decided they were my faves, they got the boot. how does that kinda thing always happen?! Kathryn was also amazing (she was my dads favorite, and since hes the only one who reads this, i might as well put that down! )
~The dances are bombdiggity. i already mentioned that.
2. Broadway shows (especially In The Heights!)
~I take pride in being the most Broadway cultured kid (along with my twin) in my grade, or the whole school. This is not an embarrassing fact, but rather something i like to bring up as often as i can. And almost whenever the XM radio in the car is on, you can bet your bottom dollar that the Broadway station is a'playin.
~Im especially into In The Heights, simply because it is the best musical ever period. Go see it.
~Other shows that i have gone through phases of: Spring Awakening (as AWKWARD as that show is to see with your parents, the music ROCKS.) Grease (but only after Laura Osnes, a Minnesota buddy, won the lead role through the reality tv show "You're the one that i want"), and Shrek and The Wedding Singer (not so much obsessions, but the music had to be forced off for a little while, or else i would've listened to it until my iPod died)
~Unrelated sidefact: I want to be on Broadway So.Bad. problem is my horrendous acting skills...
3. John Krasinski
~last year i was so obsessed i decorated my whole school planner with pictures of him. I was so young then (not really), and im not that crazy obsessive any more, but the Delivery episode of the Office was enough to make me decorate my room with pictures of him, he's just so CUTE! ...and, like, twice my age. But he's so CUTE!
4. Nick Jonas (and i guess those other 2 Jonas guys.)
~Since Nick is the only one i've seen in concert so far, and let's face it, he the cutest, he happens to be my personal fave. The only person in my family who hasn't seen at least ONE Jonas Brother live is my twin sister, and she does not enjoy my JoBros phase as much as i wish he did. Its especially too bad for her, because now JB music makes up the majority of my iPod. If you put it on shuffle, every other song WILL be a Jonas song. I've proved this. Sorry, Emma, this phase will wear off eventually, but its more likely that you will see them and become obsessed too. That is way more likely to happen then me getting out of this JB phase. :P
~Their show (JONAS on Disney Channel) is stupid the first time you watch it, and funny the second time you watch an episode. And the third. and fourth. um...yup.
5. Twitter
~Im not creepy, i just like knowing what everyone is doing! That way i can be the cool person who tells everybody else "Well, so-and-so celebrity just tweeted that they are filming such-and-such movie, and heres a twitpic from the set!" It makes me feel cool, but i dont know what it makes other people think of me...im not a creepy stalker dude, i swear!! :P
6. Being color-coordinated!
~I dont know why, but at school and dance especially, i pick a theme color, and work from there. Im such a dork that way.
7. Glee
~ask anyone who watches Glee, or better yet, watch it yourself. There are MORE than enough reasons to nerd out for this show. :) and Mr. Schue. 'nuff said.
8. Whoever the last person i saw in concert was...
~Pretty much no matter who it is, i will get into a "phase" afterward:
~I went through my Justin Bieber phase after that concert, and my Boys Like Girls phase after the same concert (twas a good show, if i might add) :) OH! i just remembered my U2 phase after the 360 concert! That was a good show, and a long obsession afterwards!
~See #4 for the most current phase, and the last concert i attended (NJ&TA)
9. Harry Potter
~Who isn't a Harry Potter nerd? People who aren't bug me, beause they have no reason not to be. this is definitely not a constantly present obsession, but around new movie primieres, i get pretty awesome, i mean crazy!
~When my sister and i went to France last summer, the family we stayed with surprised us with a daytrip to London, and what a great day it was: unbeknownst to ALL of us, it was the World premiere of the sixth Harry Potter movie! We stumbled upon it, and though we were kinda far away in a mob of people (who had been planning this day for MONTHS), it was still the awesomest thing that couldve happened to us in London! We missed the arrival of "the Big Three", but were in time to see Tom Felton (Draco), Matt Lewis (Neville), and pretty much everyone else! The best picture we got was of Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood) see picture:
<------ WHOOH coolest thing evas! 10. Traveling ~Our familia is kinda known around our friends for being the crazy "world travelers". Now, i wouldn't say THAT, because i've met people who travel more than we do, but it is something im proud of...and its fun to drive people crazy, especially when everyone complains about a geography quiz, and i just tell them ive been everywhere, and i know where everyone is. And if it bugs them, they should practice their geography, because some people's geographical ignorance embarrasses me. What do you mean you've never heard of the Amazon, you imbecile? Are you seriously asking me it is the same as the Nile? Are you stupid? heehee 11. Behind the scenes pictures/tidbits! ~I LOVE LOVE LOOOVE behind the scenes, and backstage stuff! I seriously dork out about these, and tell everyone. Thats why i love blogs like officetally.com, and as i already mentioned, Twitter(stalking) celebrities. :) i practically live for stuff like that! (not really, dad. Dont make a snyde comment about needing something better to live for. shankopotamus.)
This is 11 things, and i know that as SOON as i walk away from this here computer, i will think of more. But dont worry, ill spare you and not write about them.
adios!
;)

This is 11 things, and i know that as SOON as i walk away from this here computer, i will think of more. But dont worry, ill spare you and not write about them.
adios!

ANOTHER tv show i like!
3. Psych (Usa Network)
I absolutely love Psych, and not only because James Roday is SO cute, and Shawn Spencer is SO hilarious! The shows plots can be a little far-fetched, but most crime shows are.
Things i love:
~the pineapple! in almost every episode, a pineapple is hidden...try to find it ...if you're a fan of delicious flavor.
~All of Shawn nicknames for Gus: http://video.usanetwork.com/series/psych/#////series/psych/shawn-isms_gus-isms/ I would list some here, as was the plan, but they look so ridiculous written out that i would look like a bit of a dolt.
~Even though its VERY funny, it can be super intense, and even downright scary!! well, i dont like that so much, but if you're into that sort of thing, then the show is even better.
I have dance now, but more shows to come.

TV Shows I Like :)
This may turn into a LONG list, because i watch all the good funny shows on TV, and love them all. :) this is in NO particular order!!!
1. The Office - The older seasons of the show are probably funnier, but i love John Krasinski (Jim) so much, ill watch it no matter what!
2. Modern Family - probably the FUNNIEST show ever, but i may say that for a lot of things. ModFam got everything right, and i laugh out loud at almost everything that is said, the writing is so excellent. Some high points:
~Dylan's song "In The Moonlight" from the episode "The Incident". really funny in context, but out of context, NOT so great of lyrics! hahaha
~This probably isnt a good thing, because of how stupid she tends to be, but i relate to Haley alot...maybe its cause we're both normal teenage girls trying to survive in a family of crazies. TOTALLY KIDDING my family is not nearly as weird as the Dunphys! :P
~baby Lily is SO VERY CUTE!!!!
~Whats the most annoying thing people say to Luke Dunphy? "Dont Talk Black to me. How to you even talk black? End all your words with 'izzle?" (His sister Alex lets him know "its talk back, you idiot") overall, its a very quoteable show.
Thats TWO for now, but theres about 10 or so shows i watch religiously, so this list will continue!!!

I Want To Go Skating, Impulsively Buying Music, Randomsauce.
I was so obsessed with the Olympics the past two weeks, that now they're over, its weird to have a life back! However, im still mildly inspired by them, because i REALLY WANT TO GO SKATING RIGHT NOW, and that can only happen if my dad STOPS asking me "oh, wanna go skating?" and actually takes me to go buy some skates. So while im waiting to leave, if i ever DO leave, i might as well talk about something. I just bought the newest Nick Jonas song that came out today called "Stay"...and its really good! But, all of his songs are good, and i went to the (amazing) concert, and i kinda love him. So im slightly biased. Anyway i recommend it for anyone else who likes impulsively buying iTunes songs after getting too ADD to listen to all 30 seconds of the free preview...speaking of which i did that already twice today for some new Lifehouse songs, which i have yet to listen to. I should do that first, because im often surprised in my impulse buying with swear words, or other bad content, later down the road. Just kidding, that's only happened, like, once. Im gonna go walk around the house in warm clothes so everyone gets the message that i will just go skating by MYSELF. if only i had a ride....and skates.

Good Eats (NOT by Alton Brown. Sorry to disappoint.)
My family eats out quite a bit, and i thought i'd blog about the awesomeness of the restaurants we're eating at from time to time. On Sunday night, after my sisters and my ballet recital, we ate at the Italian restaurant Bar La Grassa (www.BarLaGrassa.com). and might i just say WOW. The Pappardelle with Veal Ragu blew my mind...all over my face. Not literally. I got the Orrechiette with yummy rabbit. No matter how many times i practice saying "orrechiette" to myself before the waiter comes, i alwasy end up saying "Can i please have the orr...uuuhhh...this one? The one with rabbit? please?" embarrassing. Ordering food is not high on the list of difficult things to do, so why do i always make a fool of myself? Beside the point. ALSO the soft polenta was unreal. Is it weird to say that it was 'unreal'? cuz it was very real. And extremely delicious. I HIGHLY recommend Bar La Grassa to any one who likes food... at all.

OLYMPIC love :)
SO my plan to write one of these every day FAILED, because i have only written one...and its been weeks. whoops. ANYWAYS i am so obsessed with the Olympics right now. Alot of people keep saying that they like the summer Olympics better, but i think winter's got alot going for it. I mean i LOVE figure skating. who doesn't, though? and even more, maybe, i love mens halfpipe!!! if there is anyone out there who thinks Shaun White is NOT the man, you have me to deal with. im joking. but seriously, hes pretty dang awesome. And back to figure skating. the mens is on right now, and every time i think "wow, i really want this guy to win", some OTHER guy will go out and skate, and ill be like, "wait, i actually want HIM to win!" ah, its all very annoying, because they are all so cool. but i do like when they fall. That's a natural human reflex i think. Shaudenfreuda or something. haha. i started following this (cute) curler from Duluth on twitter, and now i even think CURLING is cool. aaaand it looks like something i could do...even though i dance ALL THE TIME im still unbelievably UNcoordinated. I cant think of any sports in the winter Olympics i DONT like watching, except the women snowboard halfpipe-ers dont get NEARLY as much air as the dudes. But that doesnt mean i dont like watching it. I really have nothing else to say, except U! S! A! i didnt have to say that but i did anyway. and im going to go watch some figure skating now. adios.

How do i do this whole 'blog' thingy?
Apparently i have been spending "TOO MUCH TIME" on twitter and facebook recently, and it was recommended to me (by my dad, i might add) that instead of wasting all of my time, i should start a blog. To me this seems that i will only be wasting more of OTHER people's time, should i have any readers at all, but it works for me. The main question at the mo is what on EARTH should i write about? heck, i don't even know what to call this here blog. Today was spent at a confirmation retreat at my church, which would've been slightly fun-er if it hadn't started at 9:00 in the a.m. im not super interesting or fun to be around until, lets saaayyy, 11 minimum. or until after lunch. thats even better. Later tonight we (mi familia and i) are going to the new Indian restaurant downtown minneapolis. This is for two reasons, 1. to prepare for our trip to India in March and to get a hang of Indian cuisine, and 2. becuase we just feel like it.
My sister is summoning me to watch last nights new iCarly episode...you may mock but that show is VERY funny!!
asta la vista for now...
